Meet the Stopbot.
This was one of my first robtics projects.
It was CNC cut from an old stop sign. The control was very simple with only a Atmel Mega8 and a sonar sensor board that was suppost to see movement and chase it. I never could get the sonar board to work right, so after it sat for a few years
I gave it to a friend who's now got it running using a Pic and some distance sensors like the sumo's use. He has also built a laser scanning head for it to follow a line.
This is a demo track I built for line following and sumo. Its just a 4x4 piece of white board with electrical tape on it. Both cheap and functional.
This is a test platform I built from a pair of servos and some scrap Tamiya gears/track pieces. I've used it to learn more about building digital servos and reading feedback, like those servos used in RoboOne.
These pic's show a MRC plastic model I found at the local hobby store. Its pretty cool in that its got the detail of a model, but motors and torsion bar suspension of a real tank. I'll be adding a baby orangutan 168 controller, and some sensors once I get a good idea for its use.
This is my Large Tank.
After group member Jerry found a WWII version of one of these giant tanks at a Crapmart store.

I had to have one. (I have a thing for tanks!!!)

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but its really cool in that its got huge amounts of room inside. Plus its powered by a lawn mower battery.

So I could put a laptop inside for control and still have plenty of room for other gizmoes.
This is the Speeding Dummy.

While it looks a lot like my Rump Shaker
line follower robot.
Its actually a object avoider. It uses the same BEAM technology and IR sensors to avoid objects.
This is my walking robot named
"Walker Texas Ranger"
I know the name is kind of stupid, but it was a bet that I'd name it that, so.....
Its a Joinmax brand kit,
which I customized a bit.
This is one of the robots I built for the ROBOMO mini comps. Its a walking robot where the paddles pivot in order to propel
the robot to push a poker chip
in a robotics shuffle board game.
