It uses aluminum tie rods for suspension links in my own cantilever design, along with stainless steel limiting straps, backed by 1/8th scale Teflon coated oil filled shocks. It also has 1/8" anti sway bars, to help control body roll with the extreme tire and lift height.
It takes 14.4 volts to power it. The Bullhead is then controlled by a Novak speed control, and an Airtronics 2 channel pistol grip radio. The motors are Trininty brand 14 turn doubles, with adjustable timing. I have also added the Hobbico full bearing set, and Pull Master full metal gears. The 4wd, 4ws chassis with my modifications provides a top speed of around 20mph, and enough power that I can pull myself around on a skate board with it all day long and not cause any damage. Cost to build - SCARY!!!
This remote control truck started out life as a Tamiya Bullhead. As you can see, I have modified the chassis and suspension using a combination of parts (both home made and from ESP). It now retains the capacity to have up to 12 inches of suspension travel at each wheel, and to be able to drive over most any terrain.
